Chitai Console Styling Trio - Urli, Planter & Wood Vase

Why wood with the metal

Two golds and a third gold is a pile. Two golds and a warm dark wood is a scheme. The walnut picks up the brass tones without competing with them, and it gives the eye somewhere to rest - which is the whole reason interior stylists mix materials rather than matching them.

Where it works

Built for a hallway console or a sideboard, and equally at home on a wide dining table or a deep windowsill. Put the planter at the back with a trailing plant, the urli forward and slightly to one side, the wood vase between them with a single tall stem or dried grasses. Group them within arm's reach of each other rather than spaced evenly along the surface - clustered objects read as deliberate.

Through the year

For Diwali, float tealights and marigolds in the urli. For Christmas, swap to baubles or pine. Through the rest of the year it holds fruit, or nothing at all. The planter suits a pothos or peace lily; use a liner or keep the plant in its nursery pot.

Care

Wipe the metal pieces with a soft dry cloth - no abrasives on the gold finish. If you use the urli with water, empty and dry it afterwards. The wood vase is not watertight: use it with dried stems, artificial flowers, or a glass liner. Keep the wood out of direct sun to avoid fading.
