Kanchan Urli Festive Centrepiece Set
Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout
A finished festive table at the friendliest price we can put it together for. The Kanchan is our mid-size hammered urli - large enough to be the centre of attention, small enough for an apartment dining table or a crowded sideboard.
What's in the set
- 1 x Kanchan Urli Decorative Bowl - a hand-hammered gold-finish urli, wide and shallow, made for floating flowers and tealights.
- 1 x Gold Leaf Shaped Platter (Large) - a leaf-form tray with fine veining. Holds mithai and dry fruit when guests arrive, then keys and post by the door for the rest of the year.
- 2 x Grey Glass Votive Holder - smoked grey glass, for a second light source at a different height.
Why these pieces
This is the three-element rule applied at a smaller scale: the urli sits low and wide, the leaf platter spreads horizontally beside it, and the votives lift the eye. The grey glass is the piece most people would not think to add, and it is the one that keeps the arrangement from looking like a gold pile.
Styling it
Water two-thirds up the urli, marigold heads floating, three tealights. Arrange the votives on a diagonal rather than symmetrically either side - it photographs better and looks less staged in person. The leaf platter does double duty: decorative when empty, useful the moment someone brings sweets.
Care
Empty and dry the urli after use. Wipe all metal pieces with a soft dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners, which dull the gold finish. The platter is not dishwasher safe and is best kept to dry or wrapped foods. Glass votives wash by hand in warm water.
